Germany: Lufthansa Special Flight LH 2572 Munich, Germany -> Mount Pleasant (Port Stanley) (Falkland Islands)

This cover traveled aboard a Lufthansa special charter flight from Munich, Germany to Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, 'arriving' on March 12, 2025 (Port Stanley Philatelic Service Postmark). Originally scheduled for March 10, the flight was delayed by one day due to a strike at Munich Airport (lower black cachet). The aircraft carried scientific personnel on behalf of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI). This personnel was en route to board the German research vessel Polarstern, which would bring them to Neumayer Station III in Antarctica for the institute’s 2025 expedition season.

Falkland Islands: Whale & Dolphin Definitives

This is my first Cover from Falkland Islands. The Falkland Islands are an archipelago in the South Atlantic Ocean on the Patagonian Shelf. The principal islands are about 300 miles (483 kilometres) east of South America's southern Patagonian coast, at a latitude of about 52°S. As a British overseas territory, the Falklands have internal self-governance, and the United Kingdom takes responsibility for their defence and foreign affairs. The islands' total population is about 3400, the capital is Stanley.

On the Cover you see two stamps from the Whale and Dolphin Definitives Set. The left one is the Long-finned Pilot and the right one are "Killer Whales"
