EUROPA 2025 - "National Archaeological Discoveries" (full set) - Issued: 01-04-2025
In 2025, the Vorarlberg Fire Brigade Association celebrates its 150th Anniversary. To commemorate this historic occasion, a special philatelic event has been organized on May 3rd 2025: a ceremonial mail transport between Vaduz, Liechtenstein, and Hohenems, Austria. This cross-border special mail transport is not only symbolic of the strong ties between the neighboring regions of Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg but also pays homage to the spirit of unity and collaboration that has defined the fire brigades over the last century and a half. Hohenems in Austria has been choosen because the stamp exhibition "ÖVEBRIA" took place there. An arrival psotmark was applied on the back of the cover.

Ruggell, the northernmost municipality in Liechtenstein, is nestled in the Rhine Valley and boasts natural beauty alongside historic architecture. A key highlight is the Küefer-Martis-Huus (left stamp), a carefully restored building that now serves as a cultural center and museum, offering insights into local history, art, and culture.
Another notable landmark is the Old Vicarage (right stamp), the former parish house of Ruggell. This historic structure reflects the region's traditional architecture and stands as a testament to the village's rich heritage.

Salvador Dalí (Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marquess of Dalí of Púbol), born 11 May 1904 died 23 January 1989, was a Spanish painter who became famous for the unusual images he used in his paintings. He was born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain. His eccentric personality and surrealist masterpieces, like 'The Persistence of Memory', made him a household name in modern art. To celebrate his 120th birthday, the Principality of Liechtenstein issued a special commemorative Souvenir Sheet in June 2024 that can be seen on the Cover below, mailed from the city of Mauren in the north of Liechtenstein.

On 30th July 2017 Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein, who got married on this day in 1967, celebrated their 50th Wedding-Anniversary ("Golden Wedding"). The nice bloc stamp on the left was issued in 2017 to mark this occasion. Sadly Princess Marie passed away on 18th August 2021. A nice postcard from the Royal Family of Liechtenstein can be found on my Blog here.
This Cover was mailed on 31st December 2023 from Schaanwald. The village is located in north-central Liechtenstein, close to Austrian borders of Feldkirch. It was the last day of old postal rates. Despite the old rates this cover is slightly overpaid (CHF 8,10 on this cover compared to the costs of a registered letter of CHF 7,80 in 2023)

For every sold stamp 0.50 CHF went into UNICEF projects to support these children. This cover was sent from the city of Balzers.
